Continuation
Christians sometimes activate these spiritual contracts or covenants, when we fulfill some of the examples mentioned below:
- when a newly converted Christian recites New Convert’s prayers as recounted by a minister who leads them to Christ. New Converts MUST never take these prayers lightly at all!
An example of this is when a pastor asks a New Convert to say after him;
“Father, I give You praise for
keeping me alive to be a Christian today. I ask for Your mercy and forgiveness in all ways I had sinned. By Your grace,
now that I have accepted
Jesus Christ as my Lord and
Savior, I promise to live holy and will serve
You all the days of my life.
Thank You, Father,
for Your love.”
In the secular, oath-taking is a serious business. I hope we remember
that during President Barack Obama’s swearing-in ceremony as the 44th
President of the USA, the Supreme Court chief justice, John
Roberts, stumbled over the oath at the inauguration ceremony. This leading error, though might
not be intentional, misguided the president,
which led him to stutter. To remove
any form of illegality from Obama’s reign as a president, this procedure was
repeated until perfection was attained.
Repented members of secret societies would also and always confirm the
efficacy of oath-taking.
My emphasis on this issue is for us to note that any oaths taken in the
presence of God are weighty and not to be treated lightly.
This New Convert has entered a contract/covenant with God knowingly or unknowingly and it must not be taken as a joke. This is a serious matter because heaven has recorded and activated a contract, which is documented in heaven’s server.
It is just
a question of time; such New Convert will soon gravitate to their wilderness experience.
Lord prepare me a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and proved, with thanksgiving, I will be a living
Please, note the underlined words and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you what they mean. Remember, you are the person who requested for God to prepare you.
Another song or chorus I wish to refer to is:
I am blessed in the morning, I am blessed in the evening, Abraham’s blessings are mine.
As a Christian who desires to partake in the blessings of Father Abraham, do you know the cultural pressure, ridicule, shame, dishonor, rejection Abraham went through when God tried him for 25 years?
Are you aware that it was not an easy decision he took to offer his Isaac
to God, after waiting for him for 25 years? Remember Father Abraham was given a
promise at an old age of 75 years when his wife’s body had stopped functioning
in the way of a woman.
In Genesis 12:4, the Bible says, “and Abraham departed.” This was an example of Abraham consenting
to God’s plan.
It is laughable when Christians render this song, yet they do not want to be subjected to trials and tests
our patriarch Abraham
went through. Sad enough, you cannot get to your place of wealth without obtaining a
certificate from the school of the wilderness experience. It is not
possible.
Altar call for service
of commitment in God’s vineyard.
These are vows Christians enter,
at such times, for example,
when a guest minister visits a local assembly during special
programs and they make demands for vows or pledges. Please, do not partake in
these vows or pledges if you are not sure of honoring them or
personal covenants, which include, deciding to take up a
particular project for God.
Such a Christian may vow or pledge to establish a free school, medical
services for indigent members of the church,
purchase of Bibles
for unbelievers, with a condition
that ‘when’ God answers his prayers.
Conclusion
Being in a state of total well-being is an enjoyable one, but the road to that state is rough, rugged but with our Guide and
Light we shall arrive there in Jesus' name. Anonymous
This book, Four Levels of Practical Christianity, is predicated on the parable
of the Sower given by our Lord Jesus Christ in the Gospels. In the
parable, Jesus Christ told us of a Sower who generously sowed seeds in furrows
on his farm. These seeds fell on four different soils namely, (a) roadside (b)
rock (c) among the thorns, and (d) good soil.
But
in this publication, there are expanded 5 stages embedded in Christian
practical teaching, which a Christian soldier must go through. This
coincidentally is the same number of basic stages in secular military
training. “Thou, therefore, endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”
“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier” (2nd Titus 2:-3-4).
Nevertheless, these 5 stages can be collapsed into four (4) stages as
taught by the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 13: 1-8, 19-23).
Peter was with Jesus Christ
for not less than
three years (Luke 5:1-11), yet he denied
His Master very easily (Luke 22:54-62); Peter went back to his secular
profession (John 21: 3) after the death of the Lord Jesus Christ, Who
commissioned him; even though Jesus had told them (His disciples) what was
going to happen (Luke 22:31, 34).
Apostle Paul who came in much later
had to correct Peter, a disciple who had been with
Jesus Christ, to desist from hiding behind one finger – Galatians 2: 11-14.
It can be concluded that Apostle Paul’s climbing the ladder was faster than
Apostle Peter’s. This is not to judge anybody
as they were all accomplishers in their areas
of call. My reference
is to explain the role of divine speed while undergoing training in the wilderness experience.
Similarities between Christian Army & Secular
Soldiers
Comparing secular Roman soldiers (Ephesians 6: 10-20) with Christian
soldiers is important because the Bible calls us soldiers for Christ (2nd Timothy
2:3) in addition, both descriptions
of soldiers fight wars either
physical or spiritual.
