‘AND BODA AFOLABI DIED’
In
1988, I needed to dissociate myself from carnal activities at Abadina where I
lived within the University of Ibadan campus and had to urgently relocate to
Queen Amina Way.
Brethren,
if Jesus did not re-engineer and modify me, then no person would have and that
is why I cannot be moved no matter what anyone’s unpleasant opinion or comments
about the Lord Jesus Christ is.
A
relation cum my landlord, Professor Ayodele Fagbami got a better and bigger accommodation
at Queen Amina Way which was a very spacious, quiet and in a serene environment.
I went on a Saturday morning to assist in the cleaning and clearing of the
compound and there I met Boda Afolabi who was a direct relation to the Prof.
After
having a meal at the end of the cleaning at about 4pm, Boda Afolabi insisted that
he needed to go home (Sango area) to embark on a trip to Akoko that same
evening. All my pleas to postpone the trip fell on deaf ears, he left and I did
not see him until nine months later when Prof called me at about 10pm that Boda
Afolabi was around in the main house and we needed to take him to Jaja Clinic
for urgent medical attention. I was shocked when I saw Bro Afolabi.
Boda
Afolabi who left as a very healthy man weighing more than 95kg came back a pack
of bones when he was discharged from the prisons.
Space
will not allow me the opportunity to say all I experienced before he died.
Before
he died, he told me what his prison experience was. The prisoners were given ‘eba’
and soup better described as watery egunsi soup with a strand of a vegetable
leaf ONLY once day.
From
his state, it was obvious that he had no medical care in the prison in addition
to poor feeding and I want to believe that there were Christians in that
particular prison.
Maybe,
these Christians joined or spearheaded stealing of food items and medics meant
for prisoners and they would have grabbed microphones in their churches to give
testimonies of ‘God’s goodness.’
Boda
Afolabi lost his mind before he died at UCH. His demise was a great loss to Prof
and all of us.
Brethren,
if you are one of those who perpetrate workplace evil and encourage wickedness,
please you have an opportunity to repent.
You
don’t need to steal from government coffers or pervert justice before you can
live a fulfilled life.
It
is only God who gives blessings without adding sorrow to it – Proverbs 10: 22.
Peace!!!
Jesus is coming
soon!!!
