TOPIC: DADDY & MUMMY, TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILDREN (V)
(LOIS & EUNICE’S STYLES)

Read: 2 Timothy 1:5, Proverbs 31

Calvary greetings to you in Jesus name.

Praise be to the Almighty God for His faithfulness and mercies that endure forever.

In this exhortation, I wish to share with my esteemed readers the examples of Lois, the grandmother of Timothy and Eunice his mother as found in the Bible.
Timothy was a young man who believed in the lordship of Jesus Christ not because he stumbled on the faith, he was a young minister not as a result of accidental declaration of Christian faith, but simply by a careful work of salvation imparted on him by his mother, Eunice and what she also received from her mother, Lois.

How many mothers of today can be this envisioned and detailed in bringing up their children in the way of the Lord? So many are overtaken by affairs and cares of this world pursing mundane desires and visions at the expense of the child. Others chase women liberation ‘’as if men had ensnared them’’. I am not against equal participation of men and women in nation building, but while they pursue this, who takes the position of the mother at home?.........the house maid?
Oh, no wonder some mothers ‘collapse’ when they discover they have monsters as sons, nymphos as daughters. We raise cultists, armed robbers, rebels, truce breakers, brutes, drug addicts etc because we do not spend quality time with them.

No wonder they are given reprobate minds.
John Knox’s mother is a worthy example so also the mother of a prominent preacher in Abuja, whose 9 sons are all ministers.
They escaped cultism, alcoholism etc because their mother spent time on her knees.
Their children can easily deceive them because they do not and care not to know them. God knows us, His children, but they do not know theirs, what a shame!
My mother once said to me, ‘’son nobody has ever pursued money and got it. Money is always be ahead while men pursue it, so please be careful how you pursue money’’.

Mothers (fathers), please take care of these little angels God has given to you, for you shall give account some days (Matt 25: 14-30).
In conclusion, ‘’To be brought up in the fear of God is a great blessing; and a truly religious education is an advantage of infinite worth (Adam Clarke’s Commentary.’’
Peace!
