TOPIC: DADDY & MUMMY, TAKE CARE OF
YOUR CHILDREN (III)

Read: 1 Samuel 2, Proverbs 23: 24, Proverbs 29: 15

Calvary greetings to you in Jesus name.

In this write-up, we shall be looking at the lives of Prophet Eli and his sons.
This Prophet was not a mean of Man of God but it is unfortunate that his children were described as ‘children of Belial’.

It is sad to hear of atrocities children of some Men of God commit these days and I wish to please plead that they be prayed for on regular basis.
I wish to clearly state that these write-ups are not to condemn any Man of God but for readers to learn from their errors and bring up these children in God’s way.

Eli’s children were wild and morally bankrupt. They stole from all Israelites who came to worship God, raped women who concentrated themselves to God.

Their acts were grandly abominable before God and were described ‘’as too much.’’ On the other hand, this Man of God’s inability to restrain his children earned him some heavy punishments, which included the replacement of the prophet. This is sad.

Conclusion
Eli was, on the whole, a good man, but lacking in the moral and religious training of his family. He erred on the side of parental indulgence; and though he reprimanded them, yet, from fear or indolence, he shrank from laying on them the restraints, or subjecting them to the discipline, their gross delinquencies called for. In his judicial capacity, he winked at their flagrant acts of maladministration and suffered them to make reckless encroachments on the constitution, by which the most serious injuries were inflicted both on the rights of the people and the laws of God.
