greetings in Jesus name.
I am sure that so many of us are quite familiar with
the story of a man who asked his children to follow him to steal some tubers of
yam from a friend’s farm.
He positioned four of them to man the northern,
southern, western and eastern directions of the farm. They were instructed to
be very diligent in watching out for ‘intruders’.
Unfortunately for this man, the youngest child asked him
who was to watch the way towards the heaven. He wanted to know if they could
hide from God.
Looking at the life of Judah and his sexual incontinency,
I saw foolishness of man – Ps 14:1. This man travelled out of his domain to
commit adultery; agree that he was a widower. He was so clever in covering his
tracks, but he was only clever by half. Just like someone hiding behind a
finger and this is exactly the kind of life so many Christians live these days.
As an usher in charge of tithes and offering do you
steal? As a wife, can you account for the housing keeping allowance your
husband gives you? Virtuous woman does not steal! As a shepherd do you steal
from the Church?
Recently, an altar call was made during a programme in
a church that a lady was tricked by a man of God who promised to help her but
took advantage of her. This dubious and satanic ‘pastor’ certainly believed
that he covered his tracks but he was only foolish. God not only knew about it
but saw everything that happened on that day and later exposed it.
David was clever by half when he could not control his
sexual urge after seeing the nakedness of another man’s wife. His incontinence
eventually made him a murderer and also allowed Satan to blaspheme. King Saul
thought he could deceive Prophet Samuel when he failed to adhere to the
instructions of God in annihilating the Amalekites. Prophet Samuel said to him
‘’let me tell you what God told me yesterday night’’ – I Sam 15: 16. No one can
deceive God.
King Jeroboam told his wife to disguise in a bid to
deceive blind prophet Ahijah, but what the prophet lacked in the physical, God
endowed spiritually - I kings 14:1-6.
Adam & Eve, Cain, Moses (Ex 2:14), Achan could not
hide from God when they sinned, so do not think you can cover your tracks
whenever you sin –small or big.
My Advice
1. Be determined to flee from all appearance of evil.
2. Be prepared
for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will surely come.
Please let us pray for these countries (i) Nigeria
(ii) Trinidad & Tobago and (iii) Israel as you are led.
Peace!
