TOPIC: BE DETERMINED TO BE AN AGENT OF CHANGE IN 2014
(Oh! COMPATRIOT, THE CHURCH & NIGERIA NEED YOUR RADICALISM –
PART 1)

Tim 2: 19
Calvary greetings dearly beloved,
A few days ago, a good friend ‘Remi Ogunyemi and I visited one of
the Government agencies where we met a middle aged man who without any request
from us, taught us the concept of ‘contentment’. It was an exciting 35 minutes
of no regret.
The content of his lecture was enough to cause a guilty (lukewarm)
Christian cover his/her face in utter shame and such person dropping the
appellation of ‘Christianity’ or titles such as ‘pastor, bishop, deacon etc’ if
they are not ready to desist from living in sins (Rom 6: 1-2).
This man explained that so many Nigerians have not been able to
differentiate between contentment and love of money which is why
so many Nigerians die wretchedly despite the amount of money stolen and huge volume
of wealth acquired.
He told us of the strategy he devised to cut expenses on his
children’s school fees (he has many of them) yet the results obtained are
outstanding as his children could match any of their mates who are in private
schools.
Lesson learnt
In all honesty, I was ashamed of my fellow Brethren who are in either
private or public offices these days.
Those you can hardly trust with your business ideas and who will
not ‘steal’ them.
Those who will be very calm when it comes to ‘sharing the nation’s
booties’.
Those who will on daily basis come to the altar to give ‘testimonies’
how ‘God’ has been blessing them financially; telling testimonies of the number
of houses built, number of cars bought.
These are the days one does not hear testimonies of saved souls.
It is just sad.
A friend was once told me with so much pride that he recently
dedicated his friend’s two bullet proof cars worth N220m. Oh! What a
pity? Oh!, I wept within me.
This man, our host is presently the Head of procurement in his
office and I was shocked that he was so comfortable rejecting ‘appreciations
from contractors’ even when his CEO intervened for him to collect such
‘appreciations’.
Uhmmmm, how many of our ‘shursh’ people (church goers) can you try
this with?
Of course, your failure to show ‘appreciation’ might mean the last
time you would get a contract from such an organization, irrespective of the intimidating
contents of your company profile or proposal.
Brethren, why are we so avaricious? Why do we get entangled with
the spirit of the end times so easily?
I was in Lagos recently and a very good friend who took me around,
said ‘’Femi, you need to go to the Secretariat to see the types of cars civil
servants ride’’.
Now the question is, where and how do they get the money to afford
this level of ostentatious living? He told me how a lady got an approval of her
boss to ‘raise’ some money to add to what she had to buy a brand new Honda
accord because she felt her Toyota saloon car was no more fashionable, though
still in good shape.
Assuming this lady was a mother; can you imagine what this meant?
Brethren, there are so many examples to cite and I am sure you
know more than I do, so please allow me rest my case here, and the only advice
I have for you ‘shursh’ person who parades yourself as a brother or sister is
for you to drop the title until when you are ready to truly follow Jesus and
sincerely repent, restitute your ways where necessary.
Please do this urgently, because tomorrow might be too late! God
will grant you the grace in Jesus name.
Be prepared for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. He
will surely come.
Have a blessed weekend!
